Comic Viewer Workaround

If you get "The program encountered an error" from your Windows upon start each time you start the Comic Viewer (if you get it the first time after installing try starting it again), then you should simply activate "Run this program as Administrator".
Somehow the permissions seem to block parts of the program.

Comic Viewer Beta released

Changelog:
  • Now the program will save all the downloads in the folder specified by "Start in" in the shortcut (by default the installation folder). For Vista and Win7 users this will grant the opportunity to specify a full-permission folder since the installation folder lacks write permission by default.
  • The program will complain when it lacks permission to create a folder or file

Comic Viewer Alpha updated

I have updated the alpha of the comic viewer.
It contains two plugins right now, but more are planned.
The program enables you to download an entire archive of Comics and view it offline.
Also it saves where you last viewed it so you can easily see which strips are new.

Image Mover updated

I have made some changes to the Item Mover that were requested by a friend.

  • HOME and END now jump to the first/last image in the folder
  • Fixed a bug that caused the program to still show "Undefined" when the key bindings were loaded until one pressed any modificator (SHIFT, CTRL, ALT) key.
  • When defining a key binding the image will no longer be moved to that target also
  • When you open a folder and there is a default.ImageMoverXMLKeyBindings inside, it will also be loaded, enabling you to specify default key bindings for a folder.
  • You can use PgUp and PgDown to browse the images too
  • CTRL+DEL deletes an image (caution: No recycle bin, no security question)
  • Except from the "Save key bindings"-Window all windows that ask for a folder or file will now remember the last folder you used
  • The name of the current File will be displayed in the title bar
  • Also the index of that file and the number of total files in the folder will be displayed there, telling you how many images there are left in your folder.
  • You can switch between copying and moving with the INS Key.

Planned for a future release:

  • A window that lets you view and edit the key bindings enabling you to delete and change key bindings which is not impossible.

The link to the latest version is still the same (as well as the version number - duh!): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2964276/MP-Software/ImageMover.exe

Image Mover Released

I have now released a new software: The image mover.
Its design is very plain for its task: Sorting images from a folder by moving them to others.

This is the main window of the program. As you can see it has three toolbars. The first toolbar is the one for loading and saving. The first button on this toolbar lets one choose a folder to open. This folder is then scanned for pictures which will then be displayed. You can then flip through the pictures using the two arrow icons or your keyboards arrow buttons. When you press a number key (either on your numpad or one of the regular number keys) a click on the respective number in the toolbar below the images will be simulated. Those are the target slots. Each of those slots can contain one target folder. If it is clicked on (or the respective number is pressed on the keyboard) and no target has been specified, the software will ask for a target directory and remember this for the next click. Note that each number has a little arrow next to it. This is because there is a slot for each combination with SHIFT, CTRL and ALT and your number available, giving you a total of 80 target directories. The formatting of the numbers will change when you press one of the modificator keys so you can see which slots are active. Of course you can save the directories associated with those 80 possibilities by using the second button of the first toolbar. If you click it, you can choose if you want to save the key bindings or load them. The data will be saved into an XML-File with a different extension.
